Tracey Emin

I love that her feminist ways show through in every illustration. This is probably one of the most blatant ones, because it's a penis with a bird on which I personally depict as the whole "females being called birds" argument (but that's something I wont go into.) The over-all drawing is very splotty; quite carelessly done yet very controlled. I love that the bird is perched delicately on it, it couldn't be any higher up without it no longer being on the penis.

A person showering alone, in the off centre of the page. I like this because it reminds me of lonliness - I depict it as a the negative space being where the individual is thinking; the place of where they certainly aren't comfortable nor happy. But that's just me, personally. I like the drawing style because the style is ruggdy and the body doesn't really have a shape and form - it's very automatically drawn yet very controlled.

I adore that she also does prints. This looks like the hardest parts of the body where have been pressed down are showing and the part that haven't, aren't. I like the inconsistency between the paint and the background and it's something I'd like to experiment with myself. I like the blue, too. I think it stand out and could have a blue-sadness orientated deeper demeanor.
