Chesterfield Canal

"The Chesterfield Canal is in the north of England and it is known locally as 'Cuckoo Dyke'. It was opened in 1777 and ran 46 miles from the River Trent at West Stockwith, Nottinghamshire to Chesterfield, Derbyshire."
It was originally the main route to get goods in and out of Worksop - somewhat like a trading canal. The Chesterfield Canal today isn't such a big part of Worksop since many don't acknowledge it's beauty and have ruined it with litter; but it is a big part of Worksop's history. The Chesterfield Canal is still frequently used today, primarily by people on Canal Boats.
