Poetic Art - Luz Interruptus

Luz decided to leave her typical canvas painting work to create something a lot bigger, something to draw attention to herself and the art that she creates. She created an art instillation that incorporated literature, light and over 1000 poems by mail. The instillation was created for the 2010 poetas por km2 - a Spanish poetry festival in Madrid. 1,000 white envelopes were hung through the gardens where the festival was taking place, each of which contained a small light and a poem which was specifically written for the festival by 17 poets.

The instillation was lit for 3 days, lighting the space around them and after those 3 days were completed, the envelopes were available for the public to take either for themselves, or for a loved one. Pens were provided for addresses to be written if somebody desired to sent to somebody and once the festival was completely over, Luz collected the poems and then posted all that needed to be sent and the envelopes continued to be illuminated.
